Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop Review 2022

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop

This Dell Inspiron 15 7000 laptop is a powerful computer that can be used above average. You can use it to work on development, play the latest video games, edit videos, watch movies online, use social media networks like Facebook, and connect with friends and family online through programs like Skype.

However, if you are looking for a laptop with a large hard drive to store your files, we do not recommend the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1.

Whether you’re writing a year-end report, getting your job done, or creating a household budget, this Dell INSPIRON 15 7000 laptop allows you to multitask with 8GB DDR SDRAM and the advanced processing power of 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7200U up to 3.1. GHz.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming review 2022

The Inspiron 15 7000 is a mid-range 2-in-1 foldable 15.6-inch laptop that sits between Dell’s everyday Inspiron 5000 series and the desirable but expensive XPS line.

When you take the Inspiron 15 7000 out of the box, your first impression is that it’s a sleek, well-made laptop. The bottom panel and lid are made of plastic rather than metal, but it doesn’t feel that way or look bad.

There is a bend in the lid, but you won’t notice it unless you apply a deliberate torsional force. More importantly, the metal chassis makes the body sturdy. On a practical note, a matte silver paint job works great for preventing fingerprints.

The two hinges that provide this Dell’s 360˚ screen reversal are sturdy and creak-free. Even with the regular folding of the 7000, I suspect the hinges will hold tight. If you want to use the 15 7000 in tablet mode, we’re happy to hear that 10-point capacitive touch support worked perfectly.

1. Display

Things improved when we took a closer look at the 1920 x 1,080 IPS panel, which is quite similar to a piece of equipment at this price point. The maximum brightness is 330 cd/m², providing a uniform light level across the panel. The sRGB coverage is strong at 97% and the contrast ratio is 1,003:1.

The Delta E figure was a great 2.16. The panels are glossy rather than matte, so you may not find an ideal laptop for use in an office with fluorescent lighting. The display also doesn’t help, with a 10mm black border at the top, 5mm down the sides, and 15mm at the bottom.

2. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Specifications and Performance

You should be happy with the speed of a laptop with Intel’s 11th Gen Core chips. It scored 119 in the benchmark with 12GB (8GB+4GB) DDR4-3200 memory. For more power, consider the all-black version of the 7000 2-in-1 which includes a Core i7-1165G7, 16GB RAM, and 1TB NVMe SSD for.

The storage here comes in the form of a 32GB+512GB Intel Optane H10 SSD. It’s not the fastest speed, recording 1022 MB/sec read and 699 MB/sec write in sequential transfer tests of AS SSD, but the relative latency doesn’t affect the real world.

4. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming graphics card

Graphics are handled by the Intel Iris Xe chip. This chip is arguably the first Intel integrated graphics chip. For example, Dell can play Shadow Warrior at over 40fps by simply lowering the resolution to 1280 x 720.

5. Keyboards

Going back to normal laptop mode, sliding the lid over 90˚ raises the back of the deck by less than 10mm, which improves your typing angle slightly. The keyboard layout is wide and the keys have decent travel but are too resilient for our liking.

We’ll describe it as a medium rather than good. A trackpad could also be better. There is a blurry and unsatisfactory click behavior in the two bottom corners.

6. Ports

As with most Dell equipment, this laptop is fairly easy to repair. Unscrew the 8 small Philips screws and remove the bottom panel to access the Wi-Fi 6 card (Intel AX201 2×2), SSD, and two SODIMM memory slots.

Both edges have a DC power jack, one full-size HDMI 1.4 output, two USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C connector with Thunderbolt 4, power delivery and DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

There is also an SD card reader, but it’s a bit slow and half the card is always sticking out. To increase security awareness, there is a shutter that hides the 720p webcam and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button.

You can also find a pair of downward-facing speakers located under the palm rest. These are large and detailed but can use more bases.

7. Operating System

Windows 10 brings the Start menu back to Windows 7 and introduces new features. 15.6″ Full HD touch screen for direct control 1920 x 1080 resolution boasts impressive color and clarity. Get the most out of Windows with natural finger-touch navigation 10 IPS technology.

8. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 weight

One piece of evidence that this is an Inspiron and not an XPS laptop is its weight. Weighing in at 1.73kg, it’s not heavy for a 15.6-inch convertible (not overly large at 354 x 238 x 17mm), but it’s bulk if you’re used to stylish 13-inch ultraportables like the XPS 13.

9. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 battery

However, battery life is best described as moderate in the video rundown test, with a runtime of up to 8 hours. Not bad for a 15.6-inch Windows laptop, but far from the best in its class.

10. Dell inspiron 15 7000 gaming charger

The simple power supply included with Dell can recharge a 53Wh battery from a discharged state in less than two hours.

Conclusion

Dell has reached solid boundaries with the Inspiron 15 7000. While imperfect trackpads and keyboards are a blot, they offer an attractive combination of value, convenience, performance, and style. Its easy-to-access internal structure and flexible USB-C port are its main selling points.

Excessive stress on the Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 may cause the product to become hot. You can avoid this by using Dell’s Power Manager control panel, which provides a different balance between performance, heat, and fan operation. The fan is noisy at full speed.
